A story in the Aug. 13, 2008, issue of Education Week about the federal Teacher Incentive Fund gave the wrong name for the Santa Monica, Calif.-based National Institute for Excellence in Teaching.
A story in the same issue about vacancies among state school chiefs incorrectly named two states that elect their school superintendents. They are Indiana and Montana. Also, it incorrectly stated that Rhode Island did not plan to hire a search firm. The state has released a request for proposals for firms to develop, organize, and manage the search process.
