A series summary published with the “Immigrants in the Heartland” stories in the May 4 and May 11, 2005, issues of Education Week (print edition) incorrectly said that Hispanic students had become the majority in the West Liberty, Iowa, schools. Hispanics represent about 48 percent of the district’s K-12 enrollment, and are the majority in two of its three public schools.
The On Assignment story on slam poetry in the May 18 issue (“Outsiders’Art”) misspelled the name of student Christon Bacon.
