A story about states’ applications for federal Reading First grants in the Oct. 2, 2002, issue of Education Week (“Majority of States Told to Revise Reading Plans”)incorrectly stated Texas’ status. The state has not yet submitted its proposal.
The On Assignment article (“Bits and Bytes of Guidance”) about a guidance counselor at a Jacksonville, Fla., school in the Oct. 9 issue gave an incorrect name for the school. It is Stanton College Preparatory School. In addition, the National Technology Institute for School Counselors is an independent, nonprofit group and is not associated with the University of Pennsylvania.
