The 38,000-student Buffalo, N.Y., school district and James A. Williams have agreed on the terms for him to become superintendent. He will be paid $205,000 in the first year of a three-year contract, according to The Buffalo News. The school board turned down an offer from banker Robert G. Wilmers to supplement the schools chief’s salary. (“Businessman Aids Buffalo Search for Chief,” Oct. 27, 2004.)
