As we close Teacher Magazine’s 10th anniversary year, we want to pass along some good news. For the second consecutive year, Teacher has been nominated as a finalist for a National Magazine Award for general excellence. These nominations are the “Oscars” of magazine publishing. A panel of top magazine editors and designers review more than 1,000 entries and nominate publications that are among the best in the country. Winners will be announced May 3.

This honor tops off a banner year for Teacher. In August, we published the biggest issue in our history, a 110-page blockbuster. We also upgraded our paper to a heavier, whiter stock that gives the magazine a cleaner, sharper look. And, finally, we introduced more color photos and illustrations to make our pages more lively and enticing.

These are changes to help us better tell the stories of education’s key issues and people. We’ll continue to work to produce the best magazine possible. If you have suggestions, please contact us at: Teacher Magazine, 6935 Arlington Road, Bethesda, MD 20814; tm@epe.org.
