A private scholarship fund for family members of 9/11 victims says it has awarded $115.9 million to 2,825 students.

The Families of Freedom Scholarship fund distributed $12.5 million to 760 students in the 2014-15 school year. The fund is a program of Scholarship America, a nonprofit scholarship and educational support group.

It provides scholarships for children, spouses, and domestic partners of people who were killed or permanently disabled in the 2001 terror attacks.
