Hawaii, Kansas Get Schools Chiefs
The interim state superintendents of Hawaii and Kansas were hired for their respective top jobs last week. Kathryn Matayoshi had been Hawaii’s interim superintendent since January and spearheaded the state’s winning Race to the Top application. In Kansas, Diane DeBacker had been interim schools chief since last October, when Alexa Posny left to join the U.S. Department of Education.
