Commercialism Trends in Schools Examined

Despite a ban on the sale of sodas in many schools, commercialism remains rampant in most schools, concludes a report from the Commercialism in Education Research Unit at Arizona State University, in Tempe.

Though a voluntary ban in which soft drink manufacturers agreed to pull sodas and highly sugared drinks from schools went into place in May might have been predicted to reduce commercialism in schools, the authors found that marketing in schools and to students has continued unabated.
