Appeal on Stickers

The Cobb County, Ga., school board, which was rebuffed by a federal judge for its placement of stickers labeling evolution a “theory, not a fact” on science textbooks, voted last week to appeal the ruling. The school board for the 102,000-student district voted 5-2 to appeal the decision issued on Jan. 13 by U.S. District Judge Clarence Cooper in Atlanta. The judge ruled that the stickers amounted to an unconstitutional endorsement of religion and ordered them to be removed immediately.
