Honors & Awards

The Council of Chief State School Officers, based in Washington, has announced the winners of the Teacher of the Year awards from each of the 50 states, five U.S. territories and the Department of Defense school system. The awards are co-sponsored by CCSSO and Scholastic, Inc.



The National Teacher of the Year, named last week, was Michele Forman , Middlebury High School, Middlebury, Vt. She will be released from teaching duties to travel around the country for a year to represent teachers and act as an advocate for the teaching profession.
