It’s great that we have instant access to thousands of websites related to Common Core. But navigating this sea of sites can be overwhelming. With this in mind, here’s a manageable list of free online resources my team has found helpful in our Common Core Math work with instructional leaders and teachers:
- Achieve the Core: performance tasks, assessments, lessons, etc.
- Dana Center: scope and sequences, units, and other curriculum planning materials
- Drexel University - The Math Forum: problems, puzzles, etc.
- EdReports.org: reviews of instructional materials for Common Core alignment
- EngageNY: planning templates, classroom videos, sample assessments, etc.
- Estimation 180: Andrew Stadel’s daily estimation tasks
- Expeditionary Learning: classroom videos on Vimeo
- Hunt Institute: Common Core implementation videos
- Illustrative Mathematics: performance tasks
- Implementing the Mathematical Practice Standards: illustrations of each standard
- Inside Mathematics: performance tasks, videos, etc.
- Khan Academy: interactive math problems
- Mathematics Assessment Project: grades 6-12 performance tasks, lessons, tests
- Mathematics Vision Project: secondary math curriculum
- NCTM Illuminations: lessons, interactives, brain teasers, games
- NRICH: problem-solving and reasoning tasks
- NYC Dept of Education: performance tasks, units, and student work
- PARCC: model content frameworks (applicable even if you don’t use the PARCC test)
- SERP: middle grades resources including “poster problems” and sense-making tools
- Teaching Channel: classroom videos
- Teaching the Core: classroom videos and related lesson materials
- Three-Act Tasks: Dan Meyer’s collection of modeling tasks
- YouCubed: performance tasks
- Yummy Math: real-life math investigations
