Some of the Spanish vocabulary I’ve learned is not readily accessible because of a lack of use, but my second-language skills are intact enough that I could fully appreciate the humor in this video in Spanish promoting a “revolutionary product": the book.
Where I really started almost laughing out loud here in my cubicle is when the speaker started explaining the possibilities of a particular accessory for the book. The word in Spanish for this accessory is marcapaginas. I could guess by the use of visuals by the speaker and context that this is the Spanish word for “bookmark.”
I share this video with you because I know this blog has a lot of readers who speak and teach in Spanish as well as English. If you show it to your students, let me know if they think it’s funny.
