With the federal government shutdown in its second week, and a fight over the debt ceiling looming, folks are starting to contemplate what a lengthy halt in government services could mean. For K-12, the impact so far has been muted, but education policy experts are bracing for more-significant effects if the federal government remains closed for much longer.
Over the next few days, we’ll be compiling a list of Frequently Asked Questions and answering them on the blog. No question is too detailed (such as one we got last week on why Race to the Top district applications weren’t being delivered to the Education Department). No question is too wonky. No question is too difficult. We will try to get to as many as we can. (We did something similar way back when the stimulus was created.)
