Well, this wasn’t exactly an issue I expected the former president to weigh in on.
But, apparently, an enterprising reporter asked Clinton yesterday whether state lawmakers ought to pass legislation that would lift New York’s cap on charter schools and his answer was an unequivocal yes.
Clinton also said he thought the cap should be lifted because “it’s the right thing to do,” not just because the state could garner more points in its Race to the Top application it if does. Now let’s see if the former president’s comments will sway Democrats in the state Assembly to agree to lifting the cap.
