Wisconsin’s battle over collective bargaining rights is providing plenty of fodder for talk shows and taking up plenty of ink in newspapers. But in school districts, how are superintendents, teachers, and parents coping with the tumult?
In a story this week I tried to get an on-the-ground perspective from a couple school districts in Wisconsin, where administrators, school staff, and members of the community are worried that the ongoing fight at the state Capitol could fray relations for some time to come.
Some see the potential for a loss of civility overall, and question whether the ongoing state-level fracas could harden people’s positions on issues.
