Compared to results from the last National Survey of Family Growth in 2002, fewer males and females age 15 to 24 have had sexual contact with another person, a new survey shows.
In 2002, 22 percent of young men and women said they had had no sexual contact with someone else, but that figure increased to 27 percent for males and 29 percent for females in the 2006-08 survey by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the National Center for Health Statistics.
Data for 2006-2008 were collected through in-person interviews with a national sample of 13,495 males and females, age 15 to 44.
