Over the next five weeks, as part of its summer professional development series, Edutopia is offering free digitial tutorials on Web 2.0 tools that are popular with teachers: Wordle, Voicethread, Storybird, Wetoku, and plain old blogging.
The “boot camp” is geared toward new teachers—but I have a feeling it could be helpful for plenty of veteran teachers, coaches, and parents as well. In fact, I was inspired by the first lesson and decided to make a Wordle of my own, based on our recent Teaching Now entries. Here it is:
It’s no surprise to see teachers and schools come up most prominently (we’d all be a little worried if they didn’t). And it seems we’ve sufficiently blogged about writing and parent involvement. But where are the words related to STEM, bullying, and ELLs? Might be a good idea to do a Wordle every few weeks to pick up on our gaps in coverage.
