Interviews Find Ed-Tech PD, Budget Worries About Equal

The two biggest technology challenges facing education are getting teachers engaged through professional development and finding funding for technology initiatives, according to survey results released Wednesday from differentiated, digital curriculum company Compass Learning.

The admittedly unscientific survey stems from interviews of 43 educators who attended last month’s ISTE 2012 Conference in San Diego. In the interviews, 37 percent of respondents listed PD or teacher buy-in concerns as the most significant ed-tech challenge, and 35 percent listed funding or resources. Only 7 percent listed the bring-your-own device model as the biggest challenge.

Meanwhile, three in 10 respondents said the biggest opportunity provided by technology is the ability to access unlimited educational resources and information.
