One high school baseball player had his work as a volunteer firefighter pay off in dividends during a game Monday evening.
Mike Brodzinski, who attends Academy Park High School in Sharon Hill, Pa., was on second base after just hitting a double when he noticed an umpire suddenly collapse behind home plate, according to Darby Fire Co. No. 1, where the 16-year-old volunteers:
