Reducing the gap between women’s and men’s educational, entrepreneurial, and employment opportunities would increase economic growth and lead to “a more efficient use of everyone’s time,” says a new report.
The report from the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development highlights persistent issues and changes in women’s opportunities in three areas, including education, and suggests policies for member nations to pursue.
In education, the report calls for getting girls more interested in mathematics and science, partly by reducing gender bias in curricula, and making schools safer and more affordable for girls in developing countries.
