It is good practice to check out the school district and/or individual school’s web site/s to learn some facts/data prior to the interview. It’s easy to Google any school district or school. Once you are on the site, start by looking at the Parent Section to see what connection the school has with parent groups (PTO) and the community. Many interview questions center around parent involvement. A majority of school websites have a list of teams and activities that occur within the building. This may give you some insight on special education, reading, gifted programs, academics, student support, and grade level programs. Read the Principal’s Message to learn about the vision and culture of the school. As you prepare for the interview and visit the website/s, what better way to learn all you can about the place you would want to work?!
