News in Brief: A State Capitals Roundup
Minn. Targets Teen Drivers
Most teenagers in Minnesota will barred from using cellphones while driving, under a law signed July 14 by Gov. Tim Pawlenty, a Republican. The law aims to reduce the number of accidents involving teenagers by prohibiting such use by learner’s-permit holders and provisional-license holders. Five other states have similar bans, and several others are considering them.
