Rapid advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) writing tools like ChatGPT have generated a surge of interest and concern. Engage with a panel of classroom instructors and education technology experts to learn how you can set standards and expectations for your students around acceptable use of this evolving technology.

While AI writing tools have the potential to expand on original thoughts and ideas, they also have risks similar to contract cheating when students represent AI-assisted writing as their own. This becomes both a challenge and an opportunity for the education community.

In this session, we will explore:

  • How natural language models like GPT-3 work
  • Ways that teachers can adjust their instructional and assessment practices
  • Resources you can use to support open and honest conversations at your school about AI-assisted writing and academic integrity
