Walter Isaacson is the new chairman of the board of directors of Teach for America. He will serve a two-year term in that post.

A member of the board since 2000, Mr. Isaacson, 53, is the president and chief executive officer of the Aspen Institute, a think tank based in Washington. He is a former managing editor of Time magazine and a former chairman and chief executive officer of CNN.
Teach for America is a national nonprofit organization based in New York City that places recent college graduates in disadvantaged rural and urban schools for two-year teaching commitments.
