Dear readers, I hope you all had a great break and are easing your way into the new year. As we get back in the swing, I thought I would pass on information about a couple of upcoming conferences relevant to the Early Years community. If you’re planning your 2011 calendar, here are two opportunities to consider:
The Pew Center on the States, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and Every Child Succeeds are co-sponsoring the National Summit on Quality in Home Visiting Programs at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C., on Feb. 16-17. This is an opportunity for researchers, practitioners and policymakers to come together and exchange ideas to improve the quality of home-visiting programs and outcomes for families. And for principals looking to bridge the span from pre-K to third grade, the CAYL Institute will host its third annual principals’ conference at the Rosen Plaza Hotel in Orlando, Fla., July 10-13. There will be a track for school leaders interested in having their programs certified by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). For a registration form, click here.
