Carissa Moffat Miller has been named the new executive director of the Council of Chief State School Officers.
She had been serving as the organization’s interim executive director, and before that, as the group’s deputy executive director for membership and outreach for five years. Her appointment marks the first time a woman will lead the CCSSO, the group said. Miller was also a deputy schools superintendent in Idaho.
