The superintendent of the Sauk Village, Ill., school district is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 13 on charges of stealing more than $100,000 from the 1,700-student district, one of the state’s poorest. Investigators seized $730,000 in cash from his house, according to the Cook County state attorney’s office.
Thomas Ryan, 53, who resigned last month following his arrest, turned himself in and was being held without bond pending his hearing.
