Share Your Ideas
Is there something about your work, your profession, or the state of American education that you’ve been wanting to say? An idea or scheme that you’ve been longing to share with your colleagues? A humorous or inspiring experience that keeps rattling around in your mind? We want to know about it.
Teacher Magazine takes no editorial positions, but we invite readers to share their opinions, ideas, and experiences in our pages. ``First Person’’ offers you the chance to write about an interesting, amusing, or inspiring experience you’ve had as an educator. Submissions should be no longer than 1,200 words, but shorter pieces--400 to 500 words--have the best chance of being published. ``Viewpoint’’ gives you the opportunity to express ideas and well-reasoned opinions on issues of importance to teachers. Lighter pieces are also welcome. Submissions should not exceed 1,400 words; again, shorter pieces stand a better chance of being published.
Send all manuscripts to: Opinion Editor, Teacher Magazine, 4301 Connecticut Ave., N.W., Suite 250, Washington, DC 20008. Please send only one manuscript at a time. Submissions will be returned only if accompanied by a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Please allow six to eight weeks for a reply.
