Roxanne White is now the director of early-childhood programs at the Philadelphia-based Children’s Literacy Initiative, which works to prepare children from low-income families to learn to read. Ms. White, 37, was previously the director of the Achievement First reform initiative at the Fund for Educational Excellence, in Baltimore.
