M. Christopher Brown II has been appointed the director of social justice and professional development for the American Educational Research Association.
Mr. Brown, 32, comes to AERA from the Frederick D. Patterson Research Institute at the Fairfax, Va.-based United Negro College Fund, where he was the institute’s executive director and chief research scientist. A former professor at Pennsylvania State University in University Park, he is a scholar in institutional culture, educational equity, and historically black colleges.
The Washington-based AERA is the world’s largest professional association for education researchers, with 22,700 members.
