Jan B. Blacher, a professor of education at the University of California, Riverside, has started as a lifetime fellow of the International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual Disabilities.
She will also serve a three-year term on the association’s council.
Ms. Blacher, 51, is also a fellow of the American Association on Mental Retardation and the American Psychological Association.
The IASSID, an online network of professionals, promotes the scientific study and exchange of information on intellectual disabilities. It has more than 1,000 members worldwide.
