A press release about the study is available from the American Automobile Association.
The number of 16- and 17-year-old drivers involved in fatal car crashes is roughly the same during weekday after-school hours as on weekend nights, says a report by the American Automobile Association.
According to the report, which covers 2002 to 2005, the number of fatal accidents that involved a 16- or 17-year-old driver was 1,100 during the week between 3 p.m and 5 p.m. On the weekend from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., there were 1,237 fatal accidents during the four years studied.
