Deborah A. Childs-Bowen has been elected the president of the National Staff Development Council.
Ms. Childs-Bowen, 51, is an assistant professor in the school of education and professional studies at Samford University in Birmingham, Ala. She also serves as the director of the university’s Institute for Teaching and Student Achievement. She will begin her one-year term Dec. 9.
The Oxford, Ohio-based NSDC provides workshops, journals, books, and other staff-development-related products and services for its 10,000 members worldwide.
