An article in the April 4, 2001, issue of Education Week about a Washington conference organized by the Center for Education Reform (“Activists Trade Tales From Charter Wars”) understated the number of participants at the conference. The center reports that more than 100 people attended. The conference took place on March 28.

A story in the same issue misstated the number of complaints filed by parents with the Arizona Department of Education over the special education services provided to their children (“Arizona Agrees To Repay Parents for Missed Special Ed. Services.”) The department reports that it has received 365 such complaints since June 1997.

In the spring Calendar of Events pullout section that appeared with the March 28 issue, a conference sponsored by Laubach Literacy Action was listed for the wrong year. The conference will take place May 30 to June 1, 2002.

A version of this article appeared in the April 11, 2001 edition of Education Week
