A story about the U.S. Department of Education’s Blue Ribbon Schools program in the May 22, 2002, issue of Education Week (“Ed. Dept. Weighs Changing Blue Ribbon Program”) misnamed a recipient of the award from a rural area outside San Diego. It was the Julian Elementary School District.

An item in the People in the News column in the same issue (print edition) misspelled the name of T.J. Elliott, the chief learning officer of the Educational Testing Service.

An article on the May 29 International page about the education of Gypsies in Central and Eastern Europe (“Eastern Europe Pressured to Integrate Roma Students”) should have said that a lawsuit alleging that the Czech Republic is violating the human rights of Roma children was filed in the European Court of Human Rights by the European Roma Rights Center.

A version of this article appeared in the June 05, 2002 edition of Education Week
