The chief executive officer of Maryland’s second-largest school district has agreed to step down amid investigations into his district’s business dealings.
Andre J. Hornsby, who has led the 136,000-student Prince George’s County public schools for the two years, went on administrative leave last week and will resign June 30, according to a statement issued by Mr. Hornsby and the school board.
His administration became the focus of an FBI probe after revelations that he lived with a sales representative for an educational technology company that won a $1 million contract with the district.
