The General Accounting Office is expected to rule soon on challenges to two contracts awarded by the Education Department to operate federal information clearinghouses.
Officials from the Congressional agency held a hearing this month with officials from the department and New Mexico State University, which lost its bid to continue operating the Educational Resources Information Center on rural education and small schools to the Appalachia Educational Laboratory.
