It’s free, and it’s fun, apparently. That’s the verdict of many of Britain’s young students as they are logging on and learning through a collection of free educational Web sites recently launched by the BBC. Called ‘BBC Jam’—an easy word that a five-year-old can spell, and hip enough for most 16-year-olds—the network will eventually include around 120 specific learning sites by 2008 and is already a hit with many British students. Commercial publishers, however, have raised objections and are keeping a close eye on the project. Posted by The Guardian.
