• An article about drug-resistant staph infections and student-athletes in the Nov. 7, 2007, issue of Education Week should have said that the former football player filing a lawsuit against Iona College nearly lost his leg because of an infection.

• The synopses of the 2008 presidential candidates’ ideas on education in the Nov. 7 print issue inadvertently left off the last few words from the entry for former Sen. Fred Thompson. Under the “school choice” heading, the item should have said that the Republican supports vouchers and charter schools as “alternatives to regular public schools.”

• An article in the Oct. 31 issue incorrectly described the political makeup of the Mississippi legislature. Before the Nov. 6 elections, Democrats held a majority in the House of Representatives. They now have majorities in both the House and the Senate.
