William F. Maestri
The Rev. William F. Maestri has resigned as the superintendent of the Archdiocese of New Orleans Catholic School System, which serves 43,000 students in the greater New Orleans area. Father Maestri, 58, has served in the position for three years, staying longer than he intended so he could help the school system recover from the impact of Hurricane Katrina.
