March 1, 3, 4, 10, 11, 24, and 25.

The Arts & Entertainment Network presents seven programs about the lives of outstanding women. The programs will run in the following order: “Suffragette Movement: The Female Rebellion,” “Janet Suzman: On Acting in Shakespearian Comedy,” “Eleanor Roosevelt: First Lady of the World,” “Kathleen Battle at the Metropolitan Museum,” “The Life of Agatha Christie,” “Lady Day: The Many Faces of Billie Holiday,” and “The Real West: Women.” The hour-long programs air at 7 a.m. (EST).

March 3.

The Campbell Soup Co. presents “Campbell’s Portrait of a Teacher” on cable’s Lifetime Television. The hour-long program, hosted by Phylicia Rashad, best known for her role on The Cosby Show, will profile five teachers who have different, but effective, approaches to education. The show will air at 8 p.m. (EST) and will be rebroadcast March 6 at 10 p.m., March 10 at 2 p.m., and March 13 at 2 p.m.

March 3, 4, 8, 10, 11, and 12.

The Discovery Channel’s Assignment Discovery airs several new shows this month. The programs will run in the following order: “The Nature of Things: The Tree that Shaped the World,” “The Emperor’s Eye: Art and Power in Imperial China,” “Frontiers of Flight: Powered Flight,” “Oceans of Air: The Olympic Peninsula,” “Voices in the Attic,” “Light in the Shadows: A Biography of Nathaniel Hawthorne,” and “The Nature of Things: Acid Rain—Clouds With a Sulfur Lining.” Check cable listing for local air times.

March 7, 14, 21.

The Learning Channel, in conjunction with the National Education Association, airs three new episodes of Teacher TV, now in its second season. This month’s programs will appear in the following order: “Teaching the Diverse Classroom,” “When Society’s Problems Walk Through the Door,” and `Higher-Order Thinking Skills.” The 30-minute segments air at 6 p.m. (EST).

March 28.

Turner Broadcasting System presents “Giant Tarantulas of the Lost World,” a National Geographic Explorer’s special. Hosted by actor Robert Urich, this segment looks at South American spiders that have ten-inch leg spans. The 35-minute program airs at 9 p.m. (EST).
