A series of controversial education laws crafted by Idaho state Superintendent Tom Luna and eventually passed and signed into law were overturned last night by voters in that state.
Propositions 1, 2, and 3, which would have limited collective bargaining for teachers, introduced merit pay in the state, required students to take online classes before graduating, and launched a statewide 1-to-1 laptop program for high school students and teachers, were defeated in almost every county in the state, with the laptop and online class mandate, Prop 3, facing the most opposition.
