A reader emailed asking if I knew of school districts and/or schools that are partnering with early educators to build a zero-to-8 continuum that encompasses both education and the health and family services that support learning. In our reader’s words, what we’re looking for here is “not just pre-K-3, and not just educational alignment, but birth-to-8 and all the other things schools can be doing outside the classroom to help ensure what goes on inside the classroom is working.”
A tall order. In fact, the reader and I both described it as a needle in a haystack. But we’d like to know if other Early Years readers have seen K-12 districts and schools take on this challenge, even if they don’t have the whole enchilada in place yet.
