In addition to being Computer Science Education Week, this week also marks the second official “Hour of Code,” a campaign by Seattle-based nonprofit Code.org to get more students learning some computer programming.

During last year’s Hour of Code, about 15 million users participated in a tutorial on the Code.org website, according to the organization.

Apparently, more than 60,000 events are being planned around the country for this year’s Hour. Apple announced last week that it would provide one-hour coding workshops at all of its retail stores around the world on Dec. 11. As we wrote recently, even “Frozen” princesses Elsa and Anna are getting involved this year.

Code.org also launched a $5 million funding plea on Indiegogo in October with the goal of training 10,000 computer science teachers and getting 100 million students to participate in the Hour of Code. The organization has nearly reached that funding goal—and is now the most-funded Indiegogo campaign ever.
