Well, my common-standards addicts, you can get another fix. We have news that the Kansas board of education adopted the common standards late yesterday afternoon.
Two members of the 10-member board were absent, and the remaining eight voted 7-1 to adopt the standards, according to state department of education spokeswoman Kathy Toelkes.
So that move brings to 39 the total number of states (including the District of Columbia) that have adopted the standards. And thus, with a small drumroll, we bring you our updated map:
