The sixth annual National School Choice Week kicks off on Sunday.

Organizers say that more than 16,000 events are planned across the country through Jan. 30, including rallies at several state capitols.

Participation in National School Choice Week continues to grow each year—it started with just 150 events in 2011. The goal is to highlight the importance of all forms of school choice, including charter schools, private schools, magnet schools, online schools, and home schooling.
