Hear the compelling case for funding IEP, SPED, and mental health budgets.

Mental health challenges among K-12 students are rising and can be more complex for students with special needs. The impact reaches beyond the classroom. This session explores findings from The Ripple Effect: The Current State of Student Mental Health in Schools, highlighting how mental health issues affect academic performance, behavior, and overall wellbeing. With 71% of superintendents citing student health as their top concern and 62% reporting academic consequences, the data speaks for itself.

We’ll examine how mental health struggles can overlap with developmental delays, behavioral diagnoses, and special education needs—compounding the challenge Special Education Directors face in supporting students with IEPs. Attendees will gain strategies for student support and a compelling case for increasing funding for IEP and special education services.
