We’ve all heard the phrase “I’m not a math person.” We’ve studied it, offered reform around it, and acknowledged its costs. Yet, too often, conversations about barriers to math achievement stop at teacher messaging or student confidence; however, this is also a systems design issue. Materials matter. Policy alignment matters. Implementation matters.

This session will explore what it takes to rewire the whole ecosystem around becoming a “math person” and reimagine high-quality instructional materials so students are equipped with the skills they need to understand and excel in math.

Key Takeaways:

  • Understand how design, not just mindset, shapes math achievement.
  • Learn to connect curriculum, policy, and implementation for lasting impact.
  • Discover ways to support teachers and equip students to excel.
