I’m in San Francisco this week for the annual conference of the Education Writers Association, a group comprised not only of education journalists, but also communications and public relations specialists for all sorts of foundations and associations.

Those of you who use Twitter can follow along via the hashtag #ewa10, but be sure to check out our conference blog, where several of the nation’s education reporters are writing about a variety of topics.

You can read about a Florida journalist’s transition from crime reporting to education journalism or why Davis Guggenheim wants parents to pay attention to his film “Waiting for Superman.” You can read my review of the full film from a D.C.-area showing here.

For those of you interested in tracking where stimulus dollars are going, check out EdMoney.org. Local journalists are filling in details, but we at EWA want school officials, parents and others to share how stimulus dollars are being spent as well, so feel free to sign up and let us know what’s going on.

I’ll be keeping you updated as we discuss several topics of interest, including the federal agenda for schools, measuring teacher performance and underfunded pensions, something I know is of great concern for many of your school districts.
