Should Schools Be Gun-Free? School Shooting Survivor Weighs In (Video)

Lawmakers nationwide perennially introduce bills regarding the arming of teachers and school staff. While supporters argue that such policies provide educators with a means of protecting their students, retired principal John Moffatt of Lewistown, Mont., feels otherwise. He was shot during a 1986 school shooting, and this experience informs his current position on guns in the classroom. Moffatt says that if he had been armed, he “couldn’t possibly have done anything to change the outcome.”
